Public Consultation on Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP) of Health Care Facilities’ Rehabilitation Projects
Public Consultation on Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) of Infrastructure Rehabilitation Projects of Kutaisi O. Chkhobadze Multidisciplinary Clinic of Regional Healthcare Center LLC and Kutaisi Regional Division of LELP Emergency Situations Coordination and Urgent Assistance Center
Due to the pandemic caused by coronavirus (COVID-19) the need of the additional therapeutic and diagnostic devices became essential in Georgia, as well as worldwide. Under the first component of the World Bank supported Emergency Covid-19 Response Project financial sources for supporting the strengthening of the medical infrastructure have been determined. Under the mentioned component Kutaisi O. Chkhobadze Multidisciplinary Clinic of Regional Healthcare Center LLC and Kutaisi Regional Division of LELP Emergency Situations Coordination and Urgent Assistance Center were selected, as they require rehabilitation of existing infrastructure to meet established HC and epidemiological standards. Both facilities are involved in COVID-19 cases management. Kutaisi O. Chkhobadze Multidisciplinary Clinic is involved in COVID-19 immunization as well. Tender documentation for the rehabilitation works was prepared for both projects, which together with the required documents includes the project designs and Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) prepared for these projects.
ESMPs have been prepared according to the requirements of World Bank Environmental and Social Framework and the Environmental and Social Management Framework of Emergency Covid-19 Response Project. According to the WB Stakeholders Engagement and Information Disclosure requirements, to ensure public and stakeholders’ awareness on projects’ activities and the environmental and social responsibility of the construction contractors during the project implementation, ESMPs are publicly disclosed. The stakeholders are able to express their points and provide comments on elaborated ESMPs.
