Apartments Handed Over to 274 Internally Displaced Families in Kutaisi
274 Internally Displaced Families living in dilapidated buildings in Kutaisi have become owners of the apartments.
Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Ekaterine Tikaradze, Director of IDPs Agency, Besation Simonishvili, State Representative in Imereti Region, Zviad Shalamberidze handed over the keys from new apartments to Internally Displaced Families.
Providing housing to IDPs living in severe conditions in dilapidated buildings represents the priority for the Government of Georgia. At this stage, 28 dilapidated buildings were closed in Imereti Region. In addition, 111 apartments will be handed over in Kutiasi before the end of the year.
During the last 8 years, 22 655 Internally Displaced Families have been provided with housing countywide and this process will continue even in more active mode.
