
Campaign Against Gender-Based Violence
Tbilisi Women Council joined global 16 days of activism against gender-based violence campaign.
Within the campaign, Deputy Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Tamar Barkalaia, members of Council of Women Organization of Georgian Dream Party, and Tbilisi Women Council visited shelter for women, victims of violence.
The members of the Council observed environment of crisis center and got familiarized with the services. The shelter has day and night centers and provides women-friendly environment which allows the women to feel safe and comfortable.
Currently 5 crisis centers are functioning countrywide. State Agency for Protection and Assistance to Victims and Persons Affected by Human Trafficking actively works for increasing the number of centers.
