
Introduction of State Children’s Oncologic Hospital is Planned
By the decision of the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Zurab Azarashvili, introduction of Children’s Oncologic Hospital and expansion of hemato-oncology services are planned.
With this purpose, a working group has been established at the Ministry of Health. The members of the group visited leading onco-hematology clinics in Teal Aviv, Sheba Tel Hashomer Hospital, Ichilov Medical Center and Hadassah Medical Center.
The representatives of the Ministry of Health of Georgia met with management and physicians of the clinics and got familiarized with established practices and experience in hemato-oncology services. The prospects of future cooperation were discussed.
The meetings with non-governmental organizations active in the field of pediatric oncology were conducted. These organizations support development of children’s oncology services through mobilization of non-budgetary funds and global solidarity.
The visit of the members of working group was supported by Georgian Embassy and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Georgia H.E. Hadas Ester Meitzad.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the State of Israel, H.E Lasha Zhvania.
The Ministry plans to study best experience of other countries and involve international experts in process of establishment of children’s oncologic hospital.
After Israel, the members of the group wills study experience and practices in Germany.
