Starting Form March 18, reference prices became operational additionally for more than 300 medicines for treatment of chronic and oncological diseases. In total, upper limit price has been set form more than 1,100 medicines.
The list of medicines will be further enriched in the newest future.
The reform is aimed at reduction of prices of medicines in the country.
According to this novelty, pharmaceutical companies should be guided by established prices. Provided, pharmacies sell medicines at the price exceeding set limit, they will be penalized.
We would like to remind, that with the purpose of increased accessibility to medicines for population, the State set the maximum ceiling for the prices and selling of the medicines at the price exceeding set limit is prohibited.
As a result of changes, prices of pharmaceutical products have been reduced approximately by 40%.
Mechanism of reference price formation will gradually affect other groups of medicines as well.
The determined reference prices are different for original medicines and their generic analogues to guarantee interest of international brands at the market.
