New Permit Conditions for Inpatient Facilities Endorsed to Improve Quality of Medical Services

New permit conditions for inpatient facilities have been endorsed to improve quality of medical services.

The novelty is aimed at ensuring patient’s safety, refining permit framework for inpatient facilities and bringing quality of medical services into compliance with internationally recognized standards.     

Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Zurab Azarashvili spoke on this new development after the meeting of the Government. According to him, improvement of medical care and services represents the priority for the Government of Georgia. Number of important reforms were implemented by the Ministry of Health to achieve this goal.

“As you are aware, last year we started actively implementation of various interventions in terms of improvement of quality of services provided by clinics. One of the important activities is that we defined standards in various directions; in previous period – for providers of resuscitation services, today – for surgery. We are following all directions and all of them will have their standards, in terms of room arrangement, equipment and other components. Besides, international standards accreditation will become mandatory for all clinics enrolled in State Universal Healthcare Program starting form 2025. We follow the plan in these directions and I believe, that we will have improved services in clinics soon”, - stated Zurab Azarashvili.
