The Meeting on Implementation Status of DRG Funding Model

The regular working meeting aimed at discussion of implementation status of Diagnosis-related group (DRG) funding model has been convened at the premises of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.

The participants of the meeting reflected on significance of recently introduced upper level of co-financing. This novelty reduces co-financing part from the patient’s side. According to this change, the share of co-financing for pension age citizens is 10%, but not exceeding 500 GEL; for children aged 0-5, disabled children, people with severe visible disabilities and students the upper limit is equal to 20%, but not exceeding 1,000 GEL, for beneficiaries of basic package -  30%, but not exceeding 1,500 GEL.

Deputy Minister of Health, Ili Ghudushauri, presented to the representatives of medical sector the results of analysis of last few months of DRG model.

The participants of the meeting dwelt upon importance of standards of consumables, recently introduced by the Ministry of Health,  

The meeting was attended by Acting Director of the National Health Agency, Tengiz Gendzekhadze, Acting Head of Analytical Department, Nikoloz Kobakhidze, representatives of medical facilities and Health Association.

Working meetings between representatives of the Ministry of Health and medical sector will be continued in an active mode.
